Away Meet vs FLDS Thursday 5/28

5/28 FLDS hosts PCNM

Hi Waverunners! Tomorrow is our FIRST dual meet of the season and we will be at the Fields Club (Riverfield neighborhood). There will be a lot of people, and possibly some rain, but it will be a lot of fun!

Don’t forget to wear NEON!!

The coaches have been working with the kids this week on what to expect at the meet. The Heat Sheet is attached (please print at home–no copies will be sold at meet and you cannot use the bullpen’s copies). The Heat Sheet is the official entry of all the individuals swimming in the various events - all swimmers swim up to 3 individual events and potentially 2 relay events. New 6 & Under swimmers may only swim 2 individual events (PLEASE READ THE HEAT SHEET CAREFULLY).

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up to volunteer for the meet. We really need each and every family with a swimmer in the meet to volunteer. Please check your emails from the chairs of each area to sign up. If you have questions please email Liz Graves at [email protected]

See below for important information for tomorrow’s meet.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • SWIMMERS need to stay in the Bullpen area. PLEASE watch your kids and keep an eye on the bullpen staging number (this corresponds to the event on the heat sheet)! To keep the meet running smoothly, the bullpen needs to line up the kids quickly and efficiently; the bullpen volunteers don’t have time to track down every missing swimmer. Please watch your kids, keep an eye on the bullpen staging number, and ensure your swimmer lines up on time. For any swimmer, but especially our 10 and unders: It is helpful to write your swimmer’s first name and age on the upper back shoulder in Sharpie (ex. Benjamin 6). This helps our volunteers to line up everyone correctly. Apply sunscreen first, let it dry, then write on your kids.
  • DO NOT LEAVE until you have checked the relay board (near the bullpen)! The relay board can and will change often during a swim meet…kids may also “swim up” and swim with an older age group…double and triple check your child’s name several times during the meet to see if he/she is needed for a relay!
  • PLEASE CHECK RESULTS BOARD as times are posted throughout the meet and communicate any discrepancies ASAP. For example, if you have a “NS” code - it means “No Swim” and if your child swam, they should have a time reported.
  • Any WEATHER DELAYS will be communicated via the Remind App. Not registered? Register HERE
  • *Check out the SWIMTOPIA APP!! Download the app and you can see all the events your child is swimming in tomorrow!! Includes seed times, event numbers, etc. For more info click HERE

** In case of weather changes, please know that WE DO NOT LEAVE THE SWIM MEET and return home. We will leave the pool deck area. Any weather delays will just change the timing of the meet. Swimmers and their families will go to their cars to wait for any inclement weather to clear. It is more advantageous for us to swim the meet tonight than try to reschedule. Please pack extra activities, snacks, towels and anything else you need to entertain your swimmer in your car for delays.
