Waverunners update 5/6/25
Hello Waverunners,
I cannot believe it is less than 1 week until practice starts! We have many new to the team swimmers and families and I want to welcome all of them to the Waverunners! This season is going to be a lot of fun while the kids build swim skills and speed. I would love to give out every one of our Speedbreaker rainbow ribbons this year!
There is a lot of information in this email, please read fully and email me if needed.
Practices begin the afternoon of May 12th and all of our swimmers who are 5 and up are invited to come and meet the coaches to see which practice is the best fit for you. If you have a younger swimmer (<5) that is ready to compete or just are not sure, please bring your swimmer to an evening practice the first week and speak with Coach Katie.
I have attached the information sheet for all practice times, meet dates & locations. This will be your best way to keep up with practice, meets, and other dates and will be posted on the website (https://pcwaverunners.swimtopia.com/) on the right side under "Team info sheet".
Please take note of these upcoming important dates:
May 16th: Individual and team picture day, and our new parent meeting. Even if your child is not swimming meets, please come for the team picture and meeting. If you have a team suit, black suit, blue or green suit wear to the picture day. If not, that's okay, wear whatever you have. T-shirts and any other ordered items will be distributed this day.

May 22nd: Mock Meet for our swimmers 12 and under. This is an opportunity to try out a meet with just our younger swimmers, figure out the correct way to write your kids events on them with Sharpies and see what your volunteer role is like before a real meet. Concessions will be sold at this meet, we will accept cash or cards/tap.
*If your kids are on the fence about competing, this is a good opportunity to come watch and cheer on team mates who are swimming.
We ask that all families donate $10 for concessions to purchase sodas and gatorades. You can send this via venmo to ilene-roberts-2 or give cash during practice to Ilene Roberts (Concessions chair), Amy Fletcher (Swim chair), or Kim May (Treasurer).
Please sign up for Remind, this is the app we use to communicate during the season, especially before and during meets.

Finally, see the other attachment to learn about our Head Coach this year, Katie Sorensen. She has been swimming on the Waverunners since she was 6 years old and has been coaching for 4 years. We are lucky to have her back this summer and she is excited to lead the team to...Make Waves, Swim Fast, Have Fun, We're #1! Go Waverunners!
See you at the pool!
Amy Fletcher, Swim Chair
